Juvia's Place Douce Palette PUR Cosmetics Lashes

This was my first time really playing with this palette as well as trying something from Juvia's place. I have had their singles in my drawer for a bit, but they were so deep in tone that I decided to pass them on to somebody who could benefit more from them. In terms of this palette, the mattes are a bit dry, but blend beautifully. I wanted them to be a bit more vibrant, so I'm going to try and put a white base underneath ( like NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk) and see how it works. This look has MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as my base, and my previous quick look just had concealer underneath. The silver shade looks a lot richer in the pan, so it was a bit of a disappointment when I put it on the lid. I have tons of light silvers that are more reflective than this, so I was hoping to get a richer reflective tone. The white shade goes on more sheer than in the pan, as well as the browns. Overall, for the price, this is worth it, because you do get pigment (just not as much as I was hoping), and the colors are pretty and unique. The price makes it a drugstore price, so comparing it to drugstore shadows this is a top performer. It doesn't compare to MUFE or ABH or UD though. Shadows that are beautiful and reflective that are at a great price point are the Colourpop supershock shadows, and some of their palettes ( I own 2, but from the reviews I watch, it seems that some palettes are hit or miss. I would recommend doing your research 😊 ). I love the Catrice Metal Shadows but they may be discontinued.

Dupes
All the shades can be duped but I stumbled upon this dupe of Juvia's Place Tart and AOA Studio Velour Highlighter in Circus. The color is a pink, blue, purple shadow with a white base. The highlighter is more glittery and vibrant (more like and eyeshadow only $1), and the shadow is more subtle without any chunky glitters (more suited as a highlighter). If you happen to own both, putting the mousse highlighter on the bottom and the shadow on top makes it look great!

Michaels precious stones Rose Quartz Color Scheme Bracelets

Just a quick post about some beautiful bracelets I found at Michaels for buy one get one half off, and some were also on clearance. It ended up being cheaper than buying the materials and making them myself! I mixed and matched the sets to come up with the combinations pictures. The colors that I have been mixing have been taupe, white, rose quartz, purple quartz, and grey. These beads are glass, and slightly heavy, so I know they are really good quality. I love how they were cut, because it catches the light beautifully. This isn't sponsored at all, I'm just in awe of how beautiful they are! Michaels always has coupons, and I'm part of the rewards, so I'm always finding deals. Gotta love it. I'll link the bracelets that are online below.

 BITE Beauty Multistick

The other day... as I put some Bite Beauty lipgloss on in the shade Strawberry, I thought to myself, You need to try more products out from this brand! I have tried their Lip Crayon in Tulip, which I love, and have bought several other shades for my mom, but following the liquid lipstick craze, I hadn't tried any other products from them. Why do I like their products? Everything I've tried is extremely creamy, moisturizing, and is made with food-grade ingredients (they are edible!). I have been trying to go the more natural route, but my pocketbook holds me back from replacing all of my makeup with natural products...( comment if you have the same struggle!).
Anywho... a few days later, I received a complimentary Bite Beauty Voxbox from influenster with 3 Multi-Sticks in the shades MACAROON, BLONDIE, COCOA. God is so amazing, and good, that he decided to treat me to some makeup that he knew I couldn't afford at the moment! Not to mention the fact that I have been looking for a cream contour shade for a long time now, because contrary to the rave reviews on Youtube, and Instagram, the L.A. Girl Concealers are great as under-eye concealers, but horrid to contour with. They dry super fast, and blend streaky.  The only other cream contour colors I've heard some talk about are the ones in the Anastasia Beverley Hills Cream Contour Kit, and sorry, but I'm not going to pay $40 for a cream contour color, as that would be the only reason why I'd be buying it.
I hope the swatches are helpful, once I try it on my face, I'll be able to update this post with a review and more pictures.
Here's a pic from January 2015 of me with Tulip on my lips :)

UPDATE 09.14.2016

Preface: Carrot Seed Oil as Moisturizer, Japonesque Primer, Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation as BaseMacaroon & Blondie blend out beautifully no matter what type of primer, or beauty tool I use ( RT Sponge, Synthetic Kabuki Brush, Fingers...)Cocoa blended out best with my fingers, but it was still streaky, and patchy (and hard to blend), so I had to go in with my foundation brush to make it look decent. Cocoa also seemed to have a different consistency than the other 2, it was greasier which would make you think that it blends out better... but that wasn't the case!Macaroon had the most pigment on my lips, looked beautiful as blush, but was a little too "natural-looking" on my eyelids for my taste. I prefer pigmented shadows, whether they are cream or powder. Blondie blended beautiful and was a perfect transition shade on my lids, and gave a light was of color. All in all, loved 2 out of the 3 shades!
FTC: The Bite Beauty Multi-sticks were sent to me complimentary by influenster in exchange for my review. I am not being paid to talk about this product. The Lipgloss and Lip Crayon were purchased with my own money. All opinions are 100% my own.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighters Review

★★☆☆☆

When looking for highlighters, I tend to like highlighters that are pigmented, and that have a glitter or sheen to it. These highlighters are more like unflattering face powders, than highlighters.  Both highlighters lack pigmentation, but Radiant Lights is definitely the more pigmented of the two. It was so hard to even get these colors to show on camera. Now, I can settle for more of a 'lit from within' look, like the hourglass powders, but these highlighters do not hold a candle to hourglass' ambient powders. Even those powders have beautifully fine-milled glitter, whereas these do not. I could work with Radiant Lights if the subtle color that it gives were flattering on my face, but it isn't. Although these highlighters are very affordable, they are not even worth having. I have other highlighters that perform much better, as seen in the pictures below.
These are heavy, finger swatches, yet the MR Highlighters wouldn't even show up!! Once blended out, the other highlighters look beautiful ( MUFE D868 looks so pretty in person FYI).
I would pass on these highlighters if you are a Light/Fair skin tone. They may work better on someone with a darker skin-tone, but you would run the risk of  them looking ashy. This was my first time trying anything from the brand, but I think I may like their blushes better...

Pregnancy

MAY 2015

As you can tell, it’s been a very long time since I’ve used my blog! Graduating college, moving, working, and being pregnant distracted the heck out of me! I was so tired, and I can count on my fingers the amount of times I put makeup on in that year. It was so sad to see all my makeup sitting there, unused. But, for those who know me, I would choose SLEEP over makeup, and hair styling anyday. So, true to myself, that’s what I did :) ZzZzZzZzZzZz………
It has been a little over two and a half months since my little bundle of joy was born and since about two and a half weeks since he was born, I’ve wanted to write down all my thoughts on paper. I’ve probably forgotten some things that I wanted to say, but you know its better late than never. When you have a baby you're so busy and sometimes you choose other things in your free time cuz they're definitely is free time like sleep (of course I had to mention that first ), eating, you know hanging out with friends, talking to people, over sitting down at a desk writing so I'm actually not sitting down at a desk writing right now, I'm laying down on my bed, breastfeeding my little boy, and I thought to myself, well, I have this high tech phone, why don't I just speak into it and have it type for me?
Another deterrent for me is that I have psoriatic arthritis and my joints hurt, especially my fingers (for the moment,  as my body goes through phases of where it is that  I experience pain) ever since the last couple of months of pregnancy.  I'm like, okay, so if I sit down and I type this all- all I’m going to do is exasperate the problem and I’ll have to pay for it later, because I still need to use my hands every single day to do mundane things… In all honestly though, that still doesn’t stop me from looking at makeup looks all day on instagram, or from texting people all day! I’ll suffer for B.E.A.U.T.Y. hahahaha
Pregnancy, I didn't know that you could get so many illnesses/health conditions while carrying. I had heard about pregnant women getting gestational diabetes, hypertension, and nausea but I didn't know you could get so many other things. Just to be clear, I was low risk during my entire pregnancy so it's not like I had any major issues. I did, however, have morning sickness ALL DAY and it lasted more than three or four months (about 6 months) so that was really hard because when you're working, and you don't have the ability to say okay, I feel weak… let me lay down or excuse me while I vomit. I’ve had hypoglycemia since a very young age, and as soon as I get pregnant, it was as if it had gone on steroids!

Not eating all the time = weakness = fainting/needing to lay down

Eating all the time= ability to get through your work day = gaining  a lot of weight
I wish I would have been one of those pregnant mamas who exercised everyday…. oh well, maybe for the next bebesito! Let me just say one thing about heartburn, it’s a killer that can and will wake you up from your precious (scarce) sleep. Beware ladies..
I didn't know there was such a thing as pregnancy carpal tunnel. I had a lot of pain in my hands, my joints in my hands would cause excruciating pain and it would wake me up at night and since I already wasn't sleeping well, it was very hard to wake up at six in the morning to go to work.  In terms of interpreting, your mind has to be completely sharp, in order for you to interpret simultaneously, so I ended up drinking waaaaay too much coffee ( by that I mean 3 cups a week ). When your limit is zero, 3 is just way too much...way too much silently shaking my head at myself.
All that being said, pregnancy took almost completely my migraines away that I have been having since I was 4 years old.  My hair stopped falling out, my psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis completely disappeared. Most importantly, my demeanor changed; I wasn’t this strong-willed, hot-head, with little patience anymore. My honesty, and loyalty is what people have admired in me, but the flip-side to that is that sometimes I’m too honest, and my standards for the same amount of loyalty back can make me come off as hard to deal with, unpleasant, uptight, and someone to tread carefully with.
Pregnancy filled me with love, mercy, grace, vulnerability (all qualities I am striving to have). I stopped fighting my husband tooth and nail because I wanted him to do what I wanted, when I wanted. Instead, I was filled with gratitude, because I was weak now, and I gave him the chance to carry me, to be the man I had not allowed him to be. I would cry at the fact that I was unable to go out because all I wanted to do was rest, and at the fact that he would stay home with me, but he didn’t mind. He never complained, although he had worked a full work week and deserved to go out and enjoy life. Never once did he say he couldn’t handle my mood-swings, or my constant state of frailty, or my crying over the bright red stretch marks that now covered my body. He cared for me, and supported my desire to have a natural pregnancy, and birth. He attended childbirth classes 40 minutes away even though in our culture, men are traditionally not involved in those things. He never left my side during labor, and continued to care for me after I had given birth to our son. I am so grateful to our Lord for allowing me to experience a side of my husband that was foreign to me. I will never forget it.
